Job Summary The Material Specialist is responsible for the inventory control, handling, and distribution of aircraft parts and materials supporting the 135 airlines and the 145 Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO). This role ensures compliance with company policies, FAA regulatory requirements and established quality control procedures. Key responsibilities include receiving and inspecting incoming parts, maintain proper storage and preservation of materials, managing inventory levels, and ensuring accurate documentation and traceability of aircraft components received into inventory. The Material Specialist plays a critical role in supporting maintenance operations by ensuring the availability, control, and integrity of aircraft parts and supplies. Key Responsibilities Identify, control, segregate, and maintain aircraft parts and materials for the airline and MRO maintenance operations. Ensure proper preservation and storage of all inventory items, including parts subject to shelf-life limitations or environmental deterioration. Distributing relevant inventory, packages and materials information regarding parts status and inventory levels to other company departments as required. Perform the receiving and Inspection on incoming aircraft parts and identify each part has proper traceability, identification, documentation and overall condition. Follow the instructions in he Parts - Section 10 of the RSQCM manual. Ensures unserviceable, defective and scrap parts are properly identified, segregated from serviceable inventory, quarantined, and disposed of in accordance with company procedures. Ensure unserviceable/cores returned from Maintenance personnel are properly documented in the ERP and controlled per the company procedure. Maintain accurate inventory control through cycle counts and annual inventories Review of work orders to ensure all required parts and tooling have been properly issued and documented. Support packaging, shipping & receiving of company materials and aircraft components. Ensure proper labeling and identification of chemicals, including shelf-life and hazardous marking. Segregate and properly dispose of expired chemicals and hazardous materials in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. Properly package, identify and create shipper documentation of dangerous goods for any HAZMAT items offered for shipment to comply with 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Regulations and IATA DG Air shipments. Perform additional duties as assigned to support maintenance and materials operations.
