Job Description

Parts Assistant - $16/hour Greenwood Lake Marina is seeking a reliable and detail oriented Parts Assistant . This role works closely with the lead Parts Specialist to ensure accurate inventory management, efficient parts ordering, customer assistance, and smooth daily operations in a busy marina environment. The ideal candidate is organized, physically capable, comfortable with computers and inventory systems, and able to operate a forklift safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the main Parts Specialist with daily parts counter operations, including customer inquiries, order processing, and parts lookups. Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular counting, receiving, stocking, and organizing of parts and supplies. Operate forklift and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload parts, engines, and heavy items safely. Use computer systems (inventory software, point of sale, and ordering platforms) to check stock, place orders, track shipments, and update records. Receive, inspect, and put away incoming shipments; process returns and warranty claims as needed. Pull and stage parts for service technicians and customers in a timely manner.
Requirements:
Proven inventory control or parts department experience. Computer proficiency, including inventory management software. Valid forklift certification or prior forklift operating experience (certification preferred or willingness to obtain). Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 30+ lbs regularly. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
