A Parts Counter Representative sells spare parts of the phone or the counter. May assist customers in finding the correct spare and replacement parts for a product. Acts as first point of contact for product orders of customers and suppliers.
Monday - Friday 9am-6pm Saturdays 7am-5pm Position Summary- The Automotive Parts Counter Professional is responsible for supporting the parts department operations by assisting internal and external customers, ensuring accurate parts ordering, stocking, and distribution, and contributing to a high level of customer satisfaction. This role requires strong organizational skills, product knowledge, and a commitment to excellent service. Key Responsibilities Provide prompt, professional assistance to technicians and customers with parts needs. Accurately identify, source, and order automotive parts and accessories. Maintain inventory accuracy through proper receiving, posting, and stocking of parts. Coordinate with service advisors and managers to ensure timely parts availability. Follow up on backorders and resolve parts-related issues with vendors. Deliver parts to technicians, customers, or other locations as required. Support department efficiency through effective multitasking and prioritization. Promote a culture of exceptional customer service and professionalism.
Essential Functions and Duties :
Regular, reliable on-site attendance. Frequent communication with internal teams and external customers. Use of standard office equipment, including phones, computers, copiers, and printers. Ability to travel to multiple dealership locations as needed. Learn and maintain knowledge of all aspects of the department operations. Pull and deliver parts to technician bays and designated areas. Answer phones and respond to customer parts inquiries. Place, receive, post, and stock parts orders accurately. Work variable and flexible schedules, including rotating Saturdays. Create cases and documentation for back-ordered or incorrect parts when necessary. Stay current with required training and product updates. Shuttle customers when needed and authorized. Provide problem-solving and customer concern resolution. Meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail in all transactions. Maintain Parts office systems and ensure consistent adherence to procedures and organizational standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience as an automotive parts professional preferred. 2-3 years of relevant parts experience, preferably in a service/ parts/ sales/ or customer service environment. Have a Valid Driver's License. Reliable Transportation to and from work. Clean Driving History. Criminal Background Check(s). Submit and pass Drug screening. Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines. Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and reliability. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role. Reports directly to the Parts Manager/Service Manager Works closely with Service Department, Sales, Parts, and managers. May assist multiple departments on an as-needed basis. Mainly Operates in an indoor, professional office setting with periods of high activity and frequent interruptions.
