  • 20 per hour, depending on experience Gulf Coast Trailers is looking for a dependable, capable person to fill a unique position that combines office work, customer service, trailer parts, and hands-on help around our facility.
This is not a desk-only position. Some of your day may be spent inside answering phones, preparing paperwork, entering information into our manufacturing software, helping customers, or working on invoices. Other parts of the day may involve walking into the parts area or yard, pulling parts, organizing inventory, packaging orders, helping load a customer's truck, checking in service customers, or helping receive a delivery. We are looking for somebody who is willing to learn the operation and help wherever needed rather than saying, "That's not my job." Responsibilities Office / Administrative Answer phones and assist customers Write up invoices and customer orders Prepare VIN, MSO, title, and trailer paperwork Print and organize customer folders Enter and update information in our manufacturing/MRP software Help update parts, pricing, and bill-of-material information Contact vendors regarding pricing, availability, or orders Help support our office manager with day-to-day tasks Parts / Service Learn common boat trailer components and how they fit together Sell replacement trailer parts to customers Identify and pull parts for customer orders Package parts for shipping Organize and maintain parts inventory Check in customers for trailer service Help customers load parts into vehicles Help receive and unload incoming deliveries Assist around the parts department, yard, or shop when needed What We're Looking For You do not need to already know everything about boat trailers.
You do need to be:
Comfortable using computers and learning new software Mechanically inclined or willing to learn Organized and detail-oriented Dependable and punctual Comfortable speaking with customers Able to work independently Willing to get out of the office and help when something needs to be done Interested in learning the parts and products we sell Someone who notices work that needs to be done and handles it If the phones are quiet and the paperwork is caught up, we are looking for someone who will find something productive to do rather than sit in the office waiting for the next task. There is always something that can be organized, stocked, shipped, cleaned up, checked, or learned. Experience That Would Be Especially Helpful Previous experience in any of the following would be a strong plus: Boat trailers Marine parts or service RV parts or service Automotive or truck parts Trailer dealerships Parts counters Service writing Manufacturing Warehouse or inventory work Experience with MRP or manufacturing software such as MRPeasy is also a plus. Forklift experience or certification is helpful, but not required. Physical Side of the Position This is not primarily a shop labor job, but you should be comfortable being on your feet and handling normal parts-department work.
You may occasionally need to:
Carry boxes and trailer components Move hubs, brakes, jacks, springs, and similar parts Help load an axle or larger component with another employee Work outside briefly while helping a customer or receiving a delivery We have shop employees for trailer production. We are simply looking for somebody who is willing to pitch in and handle reasonable hands-on tasks rather than immediately finding someone else to do them. Schedule Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week. This position is 100% in person at our Pinellas Park facility. This is not a remote or work-from-home position. Pay $16
  • 20 per hour, depending on experience and overall fit.
No trailer or parts experience is required for the right person. Candidates with previous trailer, marine, RV, automotive, parts-counter, warehouse, or manufacturing experience may qualify toward the top of the range. We are not looking to fill this position with the first person who applies. We are looking for the right long-term person and are willing to be selective.
