Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour Job description: About the Company A growing diesel repair and service shop in the Cleburne, TX area is looking for a dependable and organized Parts Specialist to join the team. This position is important to keeping jobs moving, making sure technicians have the right parts, and helping the shop stay organized and efficient. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, communicates well, can follow up with vendors, and understands the importance of accurate parts ordering and tracking. Position Summary The Parts Specialist will be responsible for identifying, locating, ordering, receiving, and tracking parts needed for repair jobs. This role works closely with management, technicians, vendors, and the parts runner to make sure parts are ordered correctly, received on time, and documented properly. The right candidate should be organized, comfortable using a computer, able to communicate clearly, and willing to take ownership of the parts process from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Review repair jobs and identify parts needed for each job. Work with technicians and management to confirm correct parts before ordering. Use NAPA TRACS and other systems to review parts needs, job information, and repair status. Source parts from vendors and compare availability, pricing, and delivery times. Order parts as approved by management. Track parts that are ordered, scheduled to arrive, delayed, or still needed. Receive incoming parts and confirm they match the order. Notify management and technicians when parts arrive. Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, returns, credits, and delays. Help prepare parts information needed for estimates. Route and communicate with the parts runner when parts need to be picked up. Manage and track the parts runner's assignments, timing, and receipts. Collect receipts and turn them in to the proper office or finance person. Maintain organized parts areas and help keep stock inventory accurate. Monitor commonly used parts, supplies, and inventory levels. Communicate clearly when parts are missing, delayed, incorrect, or no longer needed. Follow company procedures for parts ordering, receiving, documentation, and returns. Required Qualifications Prior parts, inventory, automotive, diesel, repair shop, or service department experience preferred. Ability to identify or research vehicle and equipment parts. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good communication skills with vendors, technicians, management, and office staff. Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced shop environment. Basic computer skills and ability to use shop management software. Ability to follow instructions and company procedures. Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. Professional attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a diesel shop, automotive repair shop, truck repair shop, parts department, dealership, or fleet service environment. Experience using NAPA TRACS or similar shop management software. Experience ordering parts, managing vendor relationships, and tracking parts availability. Basic knowledge of diesel trucks, automotive parts, fleet vehicles, or repair terminology. Experience with inventory control, stock parts, receipts, credits, and returns.
