This is a hands-on role for someone who knows the difference between a good parts recommendation and a bad one, understands what technicians and customers need, and can quickly identify the right part for the job. The ideal candidate has practical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, diesel equipment, and aftermarket/OEM parts , and is comfortable working directly with customers, technicians, suppliers, and vendors. This role is based in Midland TX, and is an in-person position. Key Responsibilities Assist customers and technicians at the parts counter with identifying and sourcing the correct heavy-duty truck and trailer parts. Use industry knowledge, parts experience, catalogs, and electronic parts systems to accurately identify components. Sell OEM, aftermarket, and replacement parts while recommending the best option based on application, quality, availability, and customer requirements. Identify parts using VINs, serial numbers, part numbers, equipment specifications, measurements, and visual identification . Develop strong working relationships with fleet customers, repair shops, owner-operators, technicians, and other industry professionals. Provide knowledgeable and efficient service to customers both in person and over the phone. Prepare quotes, process orders, and follow up on backorders and special-order parts. Source hard-to-find parts through suppliers and industry contacts. Maintain accurate parts orders and ensure customers receive the correct parts in a timely manner. Work closely with the service and shop teams to understand repair requirements and help minimize equipment downtime. Maintain knowledge of current heavy-duty truck and trailer components, applications, manufacturers, and aftermarket products. Recommend related parts, kits, hardware, and other components when appropriate to complete the repair correctly. Receive, organize, and maintain parts inventory while helping keep the parts department clean and organized. Handle returns, warranties, cores, and discrepancies professionally and efficiently. Stay current with new products, technology, and changes within the heavy-duty truck and trailer industry. What We're Looking For Previous experience in the heavy-duty truck and trailer parts industry is required. Strong working knowledge of heavy-duty truck and trailer components and systems. Experience working at a parts counter, dealership, repair facility, fleet, or heavy-duty parts supplier. Ability to identify parts and understand their application rather than simply looking up a part number. Comfortable dealing directly with customers, technicians, suppliers, and vendors. Strong product knowledge across areas such as: Brakes and wheel-end components Suspension and steering Electrical and lighting Engine and cooling systems Driveline and transmission components Air systems Fifth wheels and trailer components Hitches and towing components Hydraulic components Filters, belts, hoses, and maintenance products Strong computer and parts-catalog skills. Excellent attention to detail — getting the right part the first time is critical. Able to work in a fast-paced environment where customers and technicians need parts quickly. Strong communication and customer service skills. A practical, problem-solving approach and willingness to get involved when the answer isn't immediately obvious.
