HEAVY DUTY PARTS SALESPERSON
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Heavy-Duty Parts Salesperson to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for expanding our parts sales in the field by engaging with current and potential customers, understanding their needs, and providing solutions. You will work closely with customers and service teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of parts while driving revenue growth and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities- Prospect and build relationships with new and existing customers in the heavy-duty truck industry.
- Engage with customers to understand their heavy-duty parts needs through active listening and effective communication.
- Provide excellent customer service by identifying customer needs and offering tailored parts solutions.
- Collaborate with the parts department to ensure accurate inventory levels and quick turnaround for parts orders.
- Utilize POS systems for accurate cash handling, sales processing, and transaction management.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and opportunities.
- Stay updated on new parts, products, and industry trends to offer knowledgeable advice to customers.
- Participate in trade shows and industry events as needed to promote the business' parts offerings. Essential Duties
- Prospect for new customers.
- Must be comfortable making cold calls.
- Sell the concept of the products, able to utilize automotive terminology.
- Communicates parts orders to General Manager and Production Manager.
- Verifies with customers to ensure that delivery date of non-stock items is acceptable before ordering.
- Reviews any special orders with the General Manager and obtain approval.
- Obtains General Manager's approval for any special pricing.
- Advises Production Manager on special delivery instructions.
- Follow up on parts orders to ensure that customers have been served properly.
- Turns in completed call reports, time sheets and expense reports.
- Acts as a public relations liaison for the business.
- Maintains professional appearance.
- Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the heavy-duty truck, parts, or automotive industry.
- Knowledge of heavy-duty truck parts and components (diesel engines).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional negotiation skills combined with excellent communication skills in a bilingual (English/Spanish) environment.
- Clear criminal background. Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with heavy-duty truck dealership sales or parts.
- Knowledge of parts inventory systems.
