Job Description
JOB ROLE SUMMARY
The Maintenance Associate 1 is responsible for maintaining the maintenance stockroom to ensure accurate inventory control, availability of parts, and proper organization of tools and supplies. This role oversees external contractors, coordinating work activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, schedules, and quality expectations. The position also conducts and documents preventive maintenance (PM) activities on equipment and facilities to support reliable operations, minimize downtime, and extend asset life. The Maintenance Associate works closely with operations and management to prioritize maintenance needs, maintain records, and support continuous improvement initiatives.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct inventory cycle counts and enter data (Quarterly) in ERP system.
- Research alternate vendors and parts for competitiveness, availability and reliability.
- Certified to drive lifts, forklifts and work at heights.
- Receive parts, supplies and other purchases, ensuring parts are correct.
- Prepare documentation and enter into computer system all parts to be sent out for repair or return and package for shipping.
- Package items for shipping to/from maintenance.
- Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering such factors as temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, space available, and convenience of handling items.
- Maintain the stockroom in an organized, identified, clean, and 5S state
- Compiles records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, stored, and issued. Streamline maintenance stockroom operations by identifying and resolving inventory, organization, and material flow issues.
- Demonstrate problem solving by improving parts availability, reduce downtime, and enhance preventive and corrective maintenance efficiency by optimizing stock levels, storage systems and replenishment processes.
- Provide information on status of stock to keep adequate numbers of spares and types of items on hand.
- Communicate with customers while gaining trust, understanding, and rapport.
- Negotiate warranty claims and repair costs agreements as necessary; problem solve to work around real-time issues
- Fill all requests from the Maintenance Department pertaining to parts, tools and equipment Demonstrate understanding of all EHS requirements and policies.
- Demonstrate ability to manage and oversee contractors to meet CFAN requirements.
- Ability to recognize and mitigate potential safety hazards on job site and/or task.
- Must understand and comply with 5S requirements
- Other duties as assigned by leadership
- Perform assigned tasks independently and/or as part of a team that include but are not limited to basic electrical, mechanical, and/or facility related repairs.
- Demonstrate ability to learn and independently perform documented PMs
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Strong organizational and Interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and Overtime to support schedule needs
- Acquire working knowledge of SyteLine and PR Authorization status
- Previous warehouse or stockroom experience is required
- Basic understanding of all maintenance disciplines
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Self- directed with displayed sense-of-urgency and desire to learn
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
- Must be able to lift approximately 55 lbs.
- Must be able to perform repetitive motions for extended periods of time (an 8 to 12 hour day).
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (an 8-to-12-hour day).
