Job Description

About the Role Truck Ranch is a fast-growing truck dealership group seeking a highly organized and proactive Parts & RO Manager for our state-of-the-art reconditioning facility in West Jordan, UT. In this hybrid parts and service management role, your primary mission is to prevent technician downtime by ensuring parts and repair orders (ROs) are handled flawlessly. You will lead a dedicated team to convert approved Retail Plans into accurate ROs, optimize vendor relationships, and manage our inventory efficiently using Tekion and MDD.
Leadership & Team Management Team Supervision:
Manage and schedule a 3-person team consisting of two Parts & RO Specialists and one Parts Inventory & Logistics Specialist.
Sourcing Strategy:
Train and guide your team on smart parts procurement—strategically balancing part cost, delivery speed (ETA), and vehicle holding costs to minimize overall turnaround time.
Core Responsibilities RO & Workflow Management:
Ensure approved Retail Plans convert into accurate ROs. Oversee quoting, RO creation, and strict RO Close discipline.
Parts & Inventory Control:
Manage parts ordering, parts-hold discipline, stocking, and inventory inspections. Own the parts reconciliation process and manage parts obsolescence.
System Utilization:
Leverage Tekion (DMS) to effectively write repair orders and bill parts, and utilize MDD (recon management platform) to track, communicate and expedite the reconditioning process.
Vendor Relations & Strategy:
Manage vendor relationships to secure the best pricing and delivery times. Maintain and execute an effective stock strategy.
Retail & Exceptions:
Process retail sales orders. Proactively escalate and resolve any cost and delay exceptions.
Efficiency & Profitability:
Keep workflow at maximum efficiency, manage departmental expenses, and assist in forecasting and meeting department goals.
Compliance:
Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting service operations (OSHA right-to-know, hazardous waste disposal, etc.) and maintain a safe, attractive facility.
Qualifications Experience:
5+ years of experience in automotive service, parts management, or a similar hybrid role.
Systems Knowledge:
Prior experience with a DMS is required; specific experience with Tekion and/or MDD is highly desired.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
Exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of automotive inventory management and RO workflows.

Pay:
$80,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
