Full-Time, Non-ExemptPOSITION SUMMARY
The Parts Inventory Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels of maintenance parts and supplies to support continuous and reliable plant operations. This position ensures parts availability, accurate recordkeeping, and proper storage while supporting food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements in a pet food manufacturing environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, inspect, and stock maintenance parts and supplies
- Maintain accurate inventory records using a computerized system (CMMS/ERP)
- Issue parts to maintenance personnel and track usage
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder parts as necessary
- Ensure proper labeling, organization, and storage of parts
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Schedule inspections on boilers, metal detectors and scales
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate inventory needs and shortages to maintenance leadership
- Coordinate with vendors regarding orders and deliveries
- Assist with inventory cost control and audits
- Ensure inventory practices comply with food safety and GMP requirements
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the parts storeroom
- Support preventive maintenance planning by ensuring spare parts availability
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and industrial maintenance parts
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Forklift Certification
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Inventory, storeroom, or warehouse experience preferred
- Manufacturing or maintenance environment experience preferred
- Familiarity with CMMS or inventory systems preferred
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Exposure to a manufacturing environment including noise, dust, moving equipment, and required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
