Non-Exempt Job Summary The Social Media Brand Ambassador is responsible for creating authentic, engaging content that showcases student life at Missouri Western State University. As a trusted student voice, Brand Ambassadors help prospective students experience campus through the eyes of a Griffon by producing creative social media content, attending campus events, and highlighting the people, programs and experiences that make MoWest unique. Essential Duties The Social Media Brand Ambassador will: Create engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other university social media platforms Capture and edit photos and videos of campus life, student organizations, athletics, academics and special events Develop authentic "day-in-the-life" content that gives prospective students an inside look at the MoWest experience Participate in social media trends while maintaining the University's brand standards Assist with student takeovers, livestreams, interviews, and behind-thescenes content Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to execute social media campaigns Attend campus events as assigned to create real-time content, some Saturdays and evenings required Serve as a positive representative of MoWest on campus and online Provide ideas for new content series and social media engagement opportunities Monitor assigned content for accuracy and submit work on deadline Required Qualifications MoWest Student Degree Seeking At least an overall 2.0 GPA Enrolled at least part-time Active user of Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms Comfortable appearing on camera and interviewing others Strong communication, storytelling and interpersonal skills Creative, dependable, organized and self-motivated Photography and video editing experience is preferred but not required Preferred Qualifications Attend scheduled content meetings and training sessions Meet established content deadlines Maintain confidentiality when working on university projects Follow University branding, social media and photography guidelines Demonstrate professionalism and positivity while representing MoWest Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Mobile photography and videography Video editing using CapCut, Adobe Express, Canva or similar software Writing engaging social media captions Trend awareness and creative storytelling Time management and collaboration
Physical Demands Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Location where duties are to be performed Spratt 105 and throughout campus Federal Work Study Not Required Hours of Work Work approximately 5-10 hours per week (based on department needs)
