Job Description
Position Summary Creek Technologies is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Event Specialist to support AFWERX events, conferences, and engagements that advance the mission of accelerating technology transition. This position will coordinate event planning and execution across government, industry, and academic stakeholders, including conferences, webinars, meetings, and other mission-related events. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with strong organizational, communication, and time management skills who can successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and support events and engagements involving government, industry, and academic stakeholders. Manage event logistics, including venues, registration, transportation, catering, accommodations, equipment, and audio-visual requirements. Develop and maintain event timelines, agendas, schedules, deadlines, and task assignments. Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to secure services and ensure event requirements are met. Collaborate with AFWERX leadership, event points of contact, and Strategic Communications personnel on event promotion, communications, and participant engagement. Support military protocol, customs, traditions, and etiquette during official events and ceremonies. Identify potential event risks and develop contingency plans to support safe and successful event execution. Conduct post-event evaluations, track metrics, gather feedback, and recommend improvements. Maintain current and future event schedules within designated government systems. Provide pre-event and on-site support and perform other event-related duties as required. Required Qualifications Three (3) or more years of experience planning, organizing, and executing professional events, conferences, conventions, symposiums, or training sessions. Experience supporting large-scale events of approximately 300 or more attendees. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and event management or registration tools. Strong attention to detail, critical-thinking skills, and ability to work independently. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required to support events. Education Associate degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field required. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of the education requirement.
