Please independently verify any critical information before relying on it. Description GAIN Power is rebuilding its platform from the ground up — and we need a sharp, curious technologist to help us ship it. GAIN Power is a 22-year-old professional community and marketplace for people working in Democratic politics, elections, and civic advocacy. We connect campaign staff, political consultants, field organizers, data professionals, and advocacy leaders with the jobs, resources, and relationships they need to win. Our community includes 6,000+ vetted members and reaches 39,000+ democracy professionals through our newsletters and job board. We're rebuilding gainpower.org as a modern React + Supabase web application using AI-assisted development tools (Lovable, Claude). The platform includes a Democracy Directory, an RFP marketplace, a job board with salary transparency, community feed, events, and learning resources. We have a detailed Master Spec, a working prototype, and a clear build sequence. We need someone to help execute it. This is real work on real infrastructure that will be used by thousands of campaign managers, field directors, consultants, and advocacy orgs running races across the country in 2026. Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
Run and iterate on AI-assisted development prompts in Lovable Test features, debug issues, and document what works Help wire up backend logic (Supabase, Edge Functions, RLS policies) Manage our beta tester program — recruit, schedule, and run feedback sessions with democracy professionals, then synthesize findings back into the build Contribute to feature specs and product decisions Keep the Master Spec updated as decisions are made Write weekly testing and feedback summaries for the founder
QUALIFICATIONS
Comfortable with React — you don't need to be an expert, curiosity and initiative matter more Some exposure to backend concepts (APIs, databases, authentication) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Clear written communication skills Interest in civic tech, democracy, or political infrastructure
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Supabase, Firebase, or similar backend tools Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Lovable, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc.) Experience with Tailwind CSS Previous work on a real shipped product (even a side project counts)
