Estate Manager About the Role We're looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Household Assistant to support the Estate Manager of a private home in Del Mar. This is a hands-on support role focused on executing the day-to-day household routine so the Estate Manager can focus on larger property and project work. You will report directly to the Estate Manager. She will train you, set your priorities, assign your work, and serve as your single point of contact — you will not be managing the household independently or reporting to the homeowners. Tasks are organized on a shared task board, so you'll always know exactly what's on deck for the day and what's been completed. This is a strong fit for someone who takes pride in a well-run home, executes reliably against a clear checklist, communicates proactively, and appreciates a consistent, predictable schedule. It's also a good entry point into private estate work for someone who wants to learn the field from an experienced Estate Manager. What You'll Do Tidying & upkeep — general straightening of living spaces, kitchen, and common areas Laundry & linens — washing and changing bedding, washing and folding towels and household laundry, folding and putting away clothing Kitchen — dishes, loading and unloading the dishwasher, keeping counters and surfaces clean Groceries & errands — grocery shopping and restocking, returns, package drop-offs, pickups Mail — collecting incoming mail and sending out outgoing mail and returns Trash & recycling — taking out trash and breaking down recycling Pet care — short potty walks with two friendly dogs and keeping their water bowl filled Dog appointments — occasional support with vet visits and grooming trips Proactive organizing — taking initiative on projects like pantries, closets, and storage areas, and suggesting ways to make the household run more smoothly Other household tasks as assigned by the Estate Manager through the shared task board Day-end check-in — brief update on what was completed and anything needing the Estate Manager's attention As you grow into the role, there is opportunity to take on additional responsibilities alongside the Estate Manager — including occasional event preparation, hosting support, and more. What We're Looking For Prior experience in housekeeping, household support, private household work, or a similar hands-on role Strong attention to detail — you notice the things that are out of place Dependable and punctual; consistent attendance on scheduled days matters here Able to work independently after training and follow an established task list without needing to be re-directed Comfortable taking direction from and reporting to the Estate Manager Comfortable around dogs and willing to handle short walks at times Good communicator — comfortable checking in, flagging issues, and asking questions rather than guessing Comfortable using a shared digital task board (Asana or similar) to track and check off work Trustworthy and discreet in a private home setting Requirements Reliable personal vehicle, valid California driver's license, and current auto insurance (mileage reimbursed for errands) Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be on your feet for the duration of the shift Comfortable working around dogs Must pass a background check and provide verifiable professional references Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement — this is a private residence and discretion is essential Legally authorized to work in the
