Type:

full-time The Leasing Associate plays a critical role in supporting the Leasing team through the review, abstraction, and administration of lease agreements and related legal documents. This position is ideal for candidates with strong lease administration experience, attention to detail, and an interest in real estate operations. The Leasing Associate will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the integrity of lease documentation, compliance with contractual obligations, and the smooth execution of leasing transactions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Review, abstract, and summarize lease agreements, amendments, and related legal documents to ensure accurate database entry and compliance with company standards. Support the negotiation and execution of new leases, renewals, and amendments by preparing contract drafts, redlines, and correspondence for internal and external review. Track and manage critical lease terms, including options, exclusivity clauses, security deposits, and key dates, ensuring all obligations are met and deadlines are monitored. Maintain and update the lease administration platform (e.g., Yardi Retail Manager), ensuring data integrity and timely reporting. Liaise with attorneys, brokers, tenants, and internal departments to facilitate the execution of lease documents and resolve contract-related questions. Assist with the preparation of occupancy reports, compliance schedules, and other leasing documentation as required. Participate in leasing meetings, providing insights on contract status, risk mitigation, and process improvements. Support the collection and processing of commission invoices, security deposits, and other financial obligations related to lease transactions. Contribute to the continuous improvement of leasing processes and systems, ensuring best practices in contract management and document control. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Leasing department.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 2 years' experience as a lease administrator, paralegal, contract administrator, or in a similar support role, with exposure to real estate or commercial/retail contracts. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and lease administration software (Yardi preferred). Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with legal, financial, and operational teams. Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and process improvement. Knowledge of the retail or real estate industry is a plus.
