Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, personable, and detail-oriented Leasing Showing Specialist to join our leasing team. This position will primarily be responsible for showing available apartments to prospective residents throughout the City of Hartford. This is a highly mobile position. Our apartments are located across the city, and travel between our leasing office and properties may range from approximately 5 to 20 minutes depending on the location. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting people, is comfortable driving throughout Hartford, and can provide a professional and welcoming experience to prospective residents. Schedule & Travel Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM-5:00 PM Approximately 90% of the workday will involve traveling to and from apartment properties and conducting apartment showings Properties are scattered throughout the City of Hartford Travel time between the leasing office and properties generally ranges from 5-20 minutes A reliable vehicle and valid driver's license are required Candidates must be comfortable driving to multiple properties throughout Hartford each day Primary Responsibilities Apartment Showings Meet prospective residents at apartment properties and conduct professional, informative apartment tours Provide accurate information about the apartment, building, amenities, and community Answer prospective residents' questions and create a welcoming experience Ensure apartments are clean, presentable, and ready to be shown Follow established showing and safety procedures Communicate feedback and follow-up information to the leasing team after showings Maintain accurate records of completed showings and prospective residents Conduct virtual or social-media-based apartment tours when appropriate Move-In Inspections When there are no/low scheduled apartment showings, the Leasing Showing Specialist will conduct move-in inspections, including: Inspect apartments prior to a resident's move-in Document the condition of apartments Identify maintenance, cleaning, or repair items that need to be addressed Take photographs and complete inspection documentation as required Communicate any issues to the appropriate team members Help ensure apartments are ready for new residents Qualifications Excellent customer service and communication skills; professional, friendly, and approachable. Reliable, punctual, organized, and comfortable working independently across multiple properties. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage schedules and arrive at appointments on time. Comfortable using a smartphone to communicate, access schedules, take photos/videos, document inspections, and create basic social media content. Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technology and digital tools. Previous leasing, property management, customer service, or real estate experience preferred but not required. Minimum of an associate's degree or currently enrolled in an accredited college or higher-education program. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
