Job Description

Busy real estate law firm seeks candidates for full-time or part-time position for commercial and residential conveyancing attorney. Salary range may vary based on experience. Applicants must hold a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school, be in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar, hold a current Massachusetts Notary commission, and have at least two (2) years of conveyancing experience. A strong title background is preferred. The firm is known for its practical, solutions-focused approach, strong client relationships, and ability to navigate complex real estate matters efficiently and professionally. Additional responsibilities include assisting the firm's senior attorneys with conveyancing; commercial and residential transactions; institutional and private lender representation; commercial leasing; asset purchase agreements; and trustee representation. Paralegal support staff provided. The position consists of the following: Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements; Review of title abstracts and interaction with title insurance companies and related title policies and endorsements; Reviewing and confirmation of lender's commitment letters terms; Curing title defects and trust review; Supporting complex financing and structured real estate investment matters; Conducting real estate closings (purchases, refinances, buyer, seller and institutional and lender representation); Drafting and negotiating commercial lease agreements and interaction with commercial real estate brokers; and Assist with corporate transactions such as entity formation, restructuring, mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Requirements:
Admitted to the practice of law in Commonwealth of Massachusetts and in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners; 2- years of Real Estate conveyancing experience; Strong people skills; Knowledge of real estate software programs (e-closings); Strong computer skills (Microsoft based); Understanding the entire closing procedure with no or minimal instruction; Capable of problem solving; Be extremely detail oriented and organized; Highly effective communication skills ability to interact with sophisticated paralegal staff, commercial lenders, commercial real estate brokers, and clients with the ability to build client relationships; Experience with condominium conversions, commercial foreclosures and/or commercial transactions a plus; and Knowledge of other aspects of law including probate, estate planning and real estate-based litigation a plus. The ideal candidate for this position is organized, enjoys dealing with people and is able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and thrives in a high-paced environment.
