•42,000 annually, based on a 40-hour workweek), commensurate with experience and qualifications About the Role Cline Donaldson PLLC is seeking a Real Estate Legal Assistant to join our Shallotte, North Carolina office. This is an entry-level position for someone who is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and interested in building a career in a professional legal environment. The Real Estate Legal Assistant will work closely with an attorney and a real estate paralegal to support residential real estate closings and the daily operation of the office. Prior real estate or law office experience is preferred but not required — we are willing to train the right candidate who is a quick learner, takes initiative, and works well as part of a team. Essential Responsibilities Support the attorney and real estate paralegal with administrative and closing-related tasks Greet clients and assist with the daily operation of the Shallotte office Scan, organize, and maintain closing documents and electronic files Enter new matters and information into the firm's real estate closing software Order mortgage loan payoffs, HOA statements, and other closing-related information Track documents that need to be signed, returned, or completed by clients and other parties Follow up on outstanding documents and administrative items Assist with preparation and organization of files for real estate closings Handle routine correspondence, document processing, and general office duties Help ensure files remain organized and closings move through the process efficiently Essential physical requirements: ability to sit or stand for extended periods, operate standard office equipment (computer, phone, scanner/copier), and occasionally lift materials up to 15 lbs. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Is organized and detail-oriented Has strong written and verbal communication skills Is comfortable working with computers and learning new software Can manage multiple tasks and deadlines Is dependable and professional when interacting with clients Works well as part of a team Is willing to learn and accept feedback Can take ownership of assigned tasks and follow them through to completion Previous experience in a real estate law firm, title company, mortgage company, real estate office, or similar environment is preferred but not required. Compensation and Benefits This is a non-exempt, hourly position paid $18.27
•20.19 per hour ($38,000
•42,000 annualized based on a 40-hour week), depending on experience and qualifications. As a non-exempt employee, this role is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and North Carolina Wage and Hour Act for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek. This position includes a 90-day introductory period. Benefits are not available during this period. After successful completion of the 90-day introductory period, employees become eligible for: Health insurance IRA retirement plan with a firm match of up to 3% 10 days of paid leave per year Growth Opportunity This position offers the opportunity to learn the residential real estate closing process from experienced attorneys and paralegals.
