NJ residential real estate transactions:
Must be prepared to assist in buyer and seller cases, attorney review, inspection issues, repair requests, mortgage contingencies, appraisal issues, and closing preparation.
Contracts and deadlines:
reviewing contracts for key dates, maintaining calendars, tracking contingencies, and making sure attorneys are alerted before deadlines expire.
Seller-side work:
ordering mortgage payoffs, obtaining municipal documents as applicable, preparing closing figures, coordinating deed packages and other seller documents, and working with brokers, lenders, and title companies.
Buyer-side work:
communicating with lenders and title companies, tracking mortgage commitments and closing conditions, reviewing title issues with the attorney, coordinating inspections and repairs, and preparing the file for closing.
Closing and post-closing:
assisting with settlement statements/closing disclosures, confirming funds and documents, obtaining signatures, distributing documents, tracking recording, and making sure the file is complete.
Client communication:
being comfortable speaking with buyers, sellers, Realtors, mortgage representatives, title companies, inspectors, and opposing attorneys. For our firm, bilingual English/Spanish ability will be a necessity. The candidate must be willing and able to follow directions, and capable of working both independently and with other with real estate assistants and attorneys. Candidate is also responsible for answering inbound calls and e-mails, assisting in scheduling appointments for client's, filing, faxing, scanning, and other clerical duties. Paid holidays and paid vacation/ personal/sick days after a 90-day trial period. The starting pay per hour is dependent on experience. The position is full-time Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a 30 min lunch.
