Job Description

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY - REAL ESTATE AND LAND USE TEAM - STRATEGIC BUSINESS SERVICES DIVISION, CITY OF ATLANTA LAW DEPARTMENT
General Description The Associate Attorney role will handle a variety of real estate transactions and related matters, including drafting and reviewing legislation and complex real estate documents as well as providing advice and counsel to various departments and boards as assigned. The Associate Attorney will also have contact with City Council, multiple city departments, and the governing bodies of several other municipalities. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal skills, experience working with paralegals and administrative staff, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Applicants should also demonstrate organizational, client management, writing, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is also required.
Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
Juris Doctorate degree required from an accredited law school. Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. Preferred Qualifications Experience in municipal, county, and/or constitutional law. Work Schedule This position follows the City's hybrid work schedule policy as assigned by the Department of Human Resources Commissioner and requires in-person work at City worksites/facilities at least four (4) days per week, with the option to work remotely one (1) day per week, based on eligibility, departmental needs, and supervisor approval. The hybrid work schedule is subject to change at any time to five (5) days in-person work. This position also provides staffing support for various board, agency, and commission meetings, which may occur outside of normal business hours. Accordingly, the regular work schedule may be adjusted on meeting days to accommodate these duties.
