Excise Tax Assistant
- Estate Tax Salary $3,028.00
- $3,999.00 Monthly Location Thurston County
- Tumwater, WA Job Type Full Time
- Non-Permanent Remote Employment Flexible/Hybrid Job Number 2026-065 Department Dept.
- Some remote work may be allowed, but this position will be expected to work in the office five days per week.
Following Directions and Procedures:
Locating procedures that are available for a work function to be completed. Ensuring actions follow established procedures.Written Communication:
Efficiently compose and tailor professional correspondence to customers.Customer Service:
Delivering less desirable news, fielding inquiries, and de-escalating upset customers. Providing customer service on the phone through calling customers and returning customer inquiries.Information Technology Proficiency:
Spreadsheet skills to use basic formulas, tables, filtering, and sorting. Document skills to compose messages. Using bolding, white space, bullets, and other formatting to ensure the message is clear. Decision making and applying independent judgment: Making independent decisions based on training received. Applying judgement to determine the most accurate action when multiple potential actions could be taken.Organization & Self-Management:
Keeping organized to ensure deadlines are not missed, messages are responded to, and projects are completed. Motivating yourself to complete your goals. Working your entire work shift on work related items in a virtual or in person environment. Working knowledge of technologies necessary to conduct the job functions, such as Microsoft Office applications, use of the internet and the Department's tax accounting system ATLAS. Knowledge and use of filing systems and organization skills. Two years or more experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, banking, compliance, or tax administration. College coursework, vocational, technical, or business school training in business or public administration, accounting, bookkeeping, or closely related field will substitute, year for year, for experience.
