A Leasing Consultant works within the rental office of an apartment complex or residential community. Responsible for sales and marketing of rental properties and dealing with maintenance requests and customer service needs of existing tenants.

Our Leasing Agent plays a critical role in reducing vacancy time, maximizing rental income for our clients, and creating a seamless leasing experience for prospective tenants. We are looking for someone with an innate drive to lease properties quickly while maintaining excellent communication with property owners and delivering exceptional customer service. This is not simply a "showing vacancies" position. We are seeking someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, highly responsive, and committed to managing every vacancy from notice through move-in. Primary Responsibilities As our Leasing Agent, you will oversee the leasing process from start to finish, including: Marketing and advertising available rental properties across multiple platforms. Responding promptly to all leasing inquiries through phone, email, text, and online guest cards. Scheduling and conducting property showings. Following up consistently with prospective tenants to convert inquiries into signed leases. Screening applicants and coordinating the application and approval process. Preparing lease information and coordinating move-ins. Coordinating vendors to ensure vacant units are market-ready. Conducting vacancy inspections and monitoring property condition. Maintaining accurate leasing records and documentation. Providing regular communication and updates to property owners throughout the leasing process. Owner Communication One of the most important aspects of this position is maintaining strong relationships with our clients. Our property owners expect consistent communication and proactive updates. Leasing Agents are responsible for keeping owners informed throughout the vacancy process, including: Receipt of tenant move-out notices Scheduling preliminary inspections Property condition assessments Recommended repairs and turnover work Market rent analysis and pricing recommendations Marketing activity Showing feedback Prospect interest Applications received Lease approvals Move-in scheduling Completion of the leasing process Owner updates are expected every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for active vacancies and at least weekly for all other vacant properties. Daily Responsibilities A successful Leasing Agent maintains a disciplined daily routine that includes: Responding to all new leasing inquiries promptly. Following up on existing prospects. Managing guest cards throughout the day. Conducting scheduled property showings. Responding to emails and owner communications. Reviewing vacancy status and turnover progress. Coordinating with vendors. Prioritizing vacancies that require additional leasing attention. Walking vacant units weekly to verify cleanliness, maintenance progress, security, and readiness for showings. Qualifications Previous experience in leasing, property management, real estate, or sales preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy. Proficient in using computer, email, phone Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. California real estate license is a plus but not required. Schedule Office Hours Monday through Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM While occasional evening or weekend showings may be necessary, our expectation is that our Leasing Agent manages their workload efficiently so that work outside normal office hours is kept to a minimum.
