We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Estate Planning Practice Assistant / Legal Assistant to join our Rapid City office. While this position has a strong focus on supporting our estate planning practice, you will also work alongside attorneys on probate matters, trust administration, business and real estate transactions, and other transactional legal matters. This variety provides an excellent opportunity to develop a broad legal skillset while working with a collaborative and experienced team. What You'll Do Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing professional, compassionate, and responsive customer service Coordinate client appointments, attorney calendars, meetings, and document signing appointments Organize, maintain, and manage both electronic and physical client files throughout the life of a matter Assist with opening new files, tracking matter progress, and ensuring documents are properly organized and maintained Prepare, proofread, format, and assemble estate planning documents, probate filings, trust administration documents, correspondence, and other legal documents Coordinate document execution, witnessing, notarization, recordings, and follow-up activities Manage incoming communications and help ensure client questions and requests are routed appropriately Provide administrative, organizational, and project support to attorneys across multiple practice areas Assist in maintaining accurate records within the firm's practice management and document management systems Help create a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for clients during significant life events and business transactions What We're Looking For Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent written and verbal communication skills A professional, friendly, and client-focused approach Strong technology skills and comfort learning legal and document management software Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Experience in a legal, administrative, financial services, banking, accounting, or other professional office environment is preferred Prior experience with estate planning, probate, trust administration, or transactional legal work is a plus, but not required Graduation from a legal assistant program, associate degree, or bachelor's degree preferred Why Join Us?
