What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree preferred Previous leasing experience preferred, although candidates with backgrounds in hospitality, hotels, retail, customer service, or sales are encouraged to apply Stable work history demonstrating reliability and professionalism Flexibility to work weekends as needed based on the community's leasing schedule and business needs Outstanding customer service and communication skills Professional appearance and positive attitude Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Experience with property management software such as Yardi or RealPage preferred Ability to explain lease information clearly and confidently Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations is a plus, or willingness to learn Self-motivated, team-oriented mindset and a passion for helping others Key Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for prospective residents and visitors, both in person and over the phone Conduct engaging property tours that showcase apartment homes and community amenities Guide prospective residents through the leasing process, from initial inquiry through move-in Assist applicants with completing rental applications and lease documentation Prepare lease agreements and clearly explain lease terms to new residents Ensure all lease documents, payments, and move-in requirements are completed accurately and on time Maintain accurate guest cards, resident information, and leasing records in property management software Follow up promptly with prospective residents after tours and throughout the leasing process Respond to resident questions and maintenance requests while providing exceptional customer service Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure apartment homes and tour paths are ready for showings Perform market surveys and monitor competitor communities to identify leasing and marketing opportunities Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming leasing office stocked with current marketing materials Assist with resident communications and other administrative duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous leasing, hospitality, retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Yardi or RealPage preferred Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining resident satisfaction Ability to work weekends as needed Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly pay of $18.00-$22.00 per hour , based on experience Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Opportunities for professional development and career advancement within Genesis Properties Work Location and Schedule Richmond, VA This is a full-time, on-site position at a Genesis Properties apartment community in the Richmond area.
