Boat Rental Associate

About the Role Join the team at Lake Powell Rental Boats and spend your days around some of the most beautiful waters in the Southwest. We're looking for a motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented team member who takes pride in keeping our rental fleet in top condition while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position combines boat detailing, fleet preparation, customer orientation, and operational support. You'll play a critical role in making sure every boat leaves clean, safe, and ready for unforgettable days on Lake Powell. Key Responsibilities Boat Cleaning & Detailing Wash, clean, dry, and detail boats after each rental Clean upholstery, floors, storage compartments, dashboards, windshields, and exterior surfaces Remove trash, sand, water spots, sunscreen residue, and other debris Apply cleaning products, protectants, and detailing finishes to maintain fleet appearance Report any damage, mechanical concerns, missing equipment, or safety issues immediately Prepare boats for the next rental with all required gear and supplies Customer Orientation & Boat Delivery Welcome customers and assist with the check-in process Conduct pre-rental walkarounds and boat orientations Clearly explain: Boat controls and dashboard functions Safety equipment locations Starting, stopping, docking, and operating procedures Local boating rules and safety expectations Answer customer questions professionally and confidently Ensure renters feel comfortable before departing General Operations Support Assist with launching, docking, fueling, and retrieving boats as needed Help maintain docks, equipment, life jackets, ropes, and operational areas Support team members during busy rental periods Maintain a clean and professional work environment Qualifications Comfortable working outdoors in hot weather and around water Able to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work throughout the day Strong attention to detail and pride in cleanliness Friendly, outgoing, and confident speaking with customers Basic boating knowledge preferred (training available for the right candidate) Valid driver's license required Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-minded Preferred Experience Boat detailing, auto detailing, marina work, watersports, or hospitality experience is a plus •not required Customer service or tourism experience is a bonus •not required What We Offer Competitive pay (based on experience) Fun, outdoor work environment Opportunity to work around premium boats and amazing scenery Training and advancement opportunities Staff discounts on rentals and water activities (if applicable) Ideal Candidate You're someone who notices the small details, enjoys working hard outdoors, and can confidently help customers feel safe and excited before their adventure.
