Carr Hardware is a locally owned, award-winning independent hardware store that has proudly served our community for over 95 years. We're looking for a Rental Associate to support our rental department and deliver a safe, smooth, and positive rental experience for our customers. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working with equipment, helping customers, and being part of a fast-paced team. What You'll Do Provide excellent customer service to rental customers in person and over the phone Answer calls, provide rental rates, and assist with reservations and quotes Check rental equipment in and out accurately Prepare and process rental contracts using POS and rental systems Deliver rental equipment to customer job sites and homes Load, secure, and unload equipment safely for transport Schedule and coordinate equipment pick-ups and deliveries Inspect equipment for cleanliness, safety, and basic functionality Clean, tag, and prepare equipment for the next rental Maintain an organized rental area and accurate paperwork Follow all safety procedures and rental policies Support the Rental Manager and team with daily operations What We're Looking For Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude Basic knowledge of tools, lawn & garden, or construction equipment preferred Willingness to learn rental systems, contracts, and equipment operation Strong organization and attention to detail Ability to adapt in a busy environment Safety-minded and team-oriented Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for most of the shift Valid driver's license required Clean driving record required Experience & Education Customer service or retail experience preferred Rental or equipment experience a plus, but not required Schedule & Work Environment Full-time or part-time hours available At least one weekend day required Hands-on role with exposure to equipment, fuel, outdoor conditions, and driving Why Work at Carr Hardware Health & dental insurance (for eligible employees) Paid holidays and paid time off Generous employee discounts Family-oriented workplace culture Growth opportunities into lead or management roles Work for a respected, community-focused independent business Carr Hardware & Supply Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
