Job Description

This is an entry level position for someone interested in the equipment industry! A parts / rental clerk needs to perform well under pressure and understand the fluctuating needs for various replacement parts and rental needs to excel in the role. They're responsible for keeping the business well-stocked, selling parts over the counter and over the phone and keeping customers and salesmen happy. The role is also in charge of filling in for rental coordinator when needed. Some day-to-day Parts / Rental job duties include: Parts
  • Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Monitoring the current parts inventory
  • Pricing parts to maintain profitability
  • Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labeling them
  • Helping customers find and purchase the correct parts
  • Overseeing special orders
  • Collaborating with service managers to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs Rental
  • Writing rental contracts
  • Checking availability of equipment
  • Ensuring contract accuracy
  • Taking photos of equipment coming in and out
  • Answering rental questions over the phone Skills Sales and customer service skills if working with the general public Strong written and verbal communication skills Mathematical skills to help manage the inventory, pricing and estimates Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes loud environment Leadership skills to keep the parts department running smoothly Product knowledge to ensure they identify parts correctly and recommend the needed parts Heavy Equipment parts experience preferred.
