Retail Sales Associate

Valley Furniture & Appliance is looking to hire a talented, driven, and ethical Retail Sales Associate for our showroom in Safford. For over 30 years, Valley Furniture & Appliance has provided the Gila Valley and Southeastern Arizona with unique furniture and appliance offerings and has a reputation for taking great care of both our customers and our associates.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Interacting with customers in a retail environment. Demonstrating a high level of product knowledge. • Determining needs and advising customers on their purchases. Assisting customers through direct action or by supporting coworkers. Accurately entering information in the point of sale system. Handling customer purchase paperwork and tracking orders. Working with team members with various skill sets in order to provide exceptional service. Contributing to the team and communicating effectively with other employees to achieve goals. Maximize company sales growth and profitability through the use of creative selling skills, teamwork and customer service. Deliver an engaged experience to every customer, every time. Motivate self to stay accountable to individual assigned sales and service goals. Keep customers well informed about orders and any status changes. Help to keep sales associates informed, remaining attentive to customer needs. Maintain strong relationships with existing customers, as well as prospect for new customers. Maintain knowledge of all product information, internet communications, and current advertising and marketing initiatives. Assist with ensuring products/ displays are maintained in a clean, orderly working environment. Communicate customer feedback to store management concerning policies and product requests, problems and suggestions. Actively participate in store meetings and training sessions. Other duties as assigned, essential or otherwise.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

High School diploma or equivalent. Previous sales experience or sales-related customer service. Basic computer skills. Cheerful, friendly, professional demeanor. Ability to work a 40 hour retail week including Saturdays and select holidays. Strong organizational skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language. Bilingual skills are a plus. Desire to learn, grow, succeed, and excel.

Salary/Commission Pay Range:

$30,000 to $60,000 annual salary including commission. While all positions within Valley Furniture & Appliance require working as part of a team to meet store objectives, your individual responsibilities as a Retail Sales Associate will include demonstrating outstanding customer service and selling skills, and helping teammates with other tasks in a small business environment. Retail requires hard work, but the right work ethic can produce a great living at Valley Furniture & Appliance!
