PawnCo is seeking a motivated and sales-driven Pawnbroker / Sales Associate to join our team in a high-end, fast-paced pawn and retail environment with a large and diverse inventory. This role is ideal for someone who is confident working with customers, comfortable negotiating, and motivated by sales goals and commission opportunities. You will work across all areas of the store, including retail sales, pawn loans, merchandise purchases, customer service, and inventory. Previous pawn experience is not required. We are willing to train the right person who is dependable, coachable, and ready to learn our processes. Previous sales experience is strongly preferred—especially cell phone, electronics, or other commission-based sales experience. As a key member of our team, you will deliver an excellent customer experience, drive sales, and contribute directly to the store's overall performance. Primary Responsibilities This role includes, but is not limited to: Greet every customer and provide friendly, attentive service Build customer relationships and identify sales opportunities Assist customers with merchandise selection and product questions Process retail sales, pawn loans, merchandise purchases, renewals, and redemptions Evaluate merchandise and research current resale values Negotiate loan and purchase amounts according to company guidelines Explain and promote services such as pawn loans, buys, and layaway programs Develop strong product knowledge across merchandise categories, including jewelry, electronics, tools, collectibles, and other items Test, clean, price, tag, and display merchandise Support inventory control through accurate tracking, tagging, and audits Operate the register and complete cash-handling transactions accurately Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and professional store environment Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements Assist with opening and closing duties Encourage repeat business and customer reviews Work as part of a team to meet and exceed sales and performance expectations Requirements and Qualifications Open availability Monday through Saturday Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred Cell phone, electronics, or commission-based sales experience is a strong plus Previous pawn experience is welcome but not required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Sales-driven mindset with the ability to engage customers and close sales Confident negotiating and making informed decisions Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team Coachable and willing to learn PawnCo's processes Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment Comfortable handling cash and completing transactions accurately Basic computer, internet research, and POS system skills Strong attention to detail and organization Able to remain professional during challenging customer interactions Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience Bilingual candidates are a plus Candidates seeking consideration for an Assistant Store Manager position must have at least two years of previous management experience Compensation Base pay: $17-$18 per hour , depending on experience Competitive hourly pay + commission opportunities Benefits Benefits are available to eligible employees and include: 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Employee discount

Schedule Store Hours:

Monday-Friday:

10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Saturday:

10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Sunday:

Closed Employees generally begin approximately 30 minutes before the store opens and may remain 15-30 minutes after closing. This position requires open availability. Schedules vary and are created based on business and staffing needs within the hours listed above.
