You'll help create the kind of dispensary experience guests actually want to come back to welcoming, knowledgeable, relaxed and never intimidating. You should be genuinely curious about cannabis and excited to help customers navigate our selection based on their preferences and experience. We're looking for cannabis enthusiasts, herbalists at heart, and great people-people who can balance personality with professionalism. You'll be a Cheech & Chong brand ambassador, delivering great service, building real connections with guests and continuing to grow your cannabis knowledge, all while understanding that behind the good vibes is a highly regulated California industry where compliance and attention to detail matter. ResponsibilitiesSales Understand sales goals, team incentives and actively contribute to meeting and exceeding expectations. Maintain an understanding of key store KPIs, including average basket size and units per transaction. Make thoughtful product recommendations based on each guest's preferences, experience and budget. Take part in sales incentives, promotions and initiatives introduced by the leadership team. Help guests discover new products while keeping the experience educational and never pushy. Follow and champion Cheech & Chong's selling standards. Customers Deliver friendly, knowledgeable and engaging customer service that keeps people coming back. Welcome everyone from first-time and canna-curious guests to seasoned plant people. Ask thoughtful questions, listen to what guests are looking for and help them confidently navigate the menu. Educate guests on cannabis products, formats, cannabinoids, terpenes, consumption methods and responsible use within the scope of your role. Build genuine relationships with guests and contribute to a loyal customer base. Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions. Support in resolving customer concerns with a positive and solutions-focused approach. Never make medical or therapeutic claims or provide medical advice regarding cannabis products. People Bring good energy and help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all staff and guests. Maintain a supportive, respectful and positive working environment. Work collaboratively with the team and be ready to jump in where needed. Be reliable, adaptable and accountable for your responsibilities. Represent Cheech & Chong's Dispensoria professionally both inside and outside the store. Product Know your bud. Continuously learn and remain up to date Develop working knowledge of cannabinoids, terpenes, product formats, consumption methods and responsible use. Actively participate in product, brand and compliance training as directed by leadership. Use product knowledge to make relevant and responsible recommendations based on each guest's preferences. Support store merchandising and visual standards. Stay curious, ask questions and have a growth mindset! Cannabis is constantly evolving, and so should your product knowledge. Operations Help maintain a clean, organized, stocked and welcoming dispensary. Follow all store procedures and protocols established by the leadership team. Accurately and efficiently process transactions through approved store systems. Support inventory counts, audits, product organization and other operational duties as required. Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies or operational concerns to leadership. Identify opportunities to improve store processes and the overall guest experience. Pitch in where needed to keep the store running smoothly. Compliance Adhere to all applicable California Department of Cannabis Control regulations, local requirements and company policies and procedures. Verify valid government-issued identification and customer eligibility before completing cannabis transactions. Follow applicable California age requirements for adult-use and medicinal cannabis customers. Understand and follow applicable California cannabis purchase limits and transaction requirements. Accurately process cannabis transactions and follow all required inventory and Flow Hub and Metrc procedures. Follow store requirements related to cannabis storage, security, restricted-access areas and product handling. Support inventory audits and reconciliation as directed by leadership. Complete all required onboarding and ongoing cannabis compliance training. Immediately communicate suspected compliance issues, inventory discrepancies, identification concerns or unusual activity to leadership. Never knowingly facilitate the sale or diversion of cannabis to an ineligible individual.

Be a positive ambassador for Cheech & Chong's Dispensoria and the local cannabis community. Candidate Requirements Must be 21 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in retail, hospitality, cannabis or another customer-facing environment preferred. Genuine interest in cannabis and a willingness to continuously develop product and industry knowledge. Working cannabis knowledge is an asset, but curiosity, willingness to learn and the ability to connect with people are just as important. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to comfortably engage with a wide range of guests. Able to listen to customer needs and translate them into thoughtful product recommendations. Comfortable working toward sales goals and KPIs while maintaining a guest-first, non-pushy approach. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow California cannabis regulations and internal compliance procedures. Comfortable using POS systems, handling cash and accurately completing retail transactions. Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Able to maintain professionalism and composure in a busy, fast-paced retail environment. Must be available to work a flexible retail schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Able to stand for extended periods and perform the physical duties associated with a retail environment, including lifting and moving inventory as required. Must successfully complete all required company onboarding, product education and cannabis compliance training. Extra points if you're already the plant person your friends come to with questions.
