Full-Time Position Summary The Retail Store Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers with the selection of fishing tackle, bait, rods, reels, apparel, and outdoor accessories. This position serves as a knowledgeable resource for anglers of all experience levels, offering product recommendations and sharing fishing-related insights to enhance the customer experience . The Retail Store Associate maintains merchandise displays, processes sales transactions, manages inventory, and helps ensure the store remains clean, organized, and fully stocked. The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, passionate about fishing and the outdoors, and committed to creating a welcoming environment that encourages customer loyalty and repeat business. Key Responsibilities Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service. Assist customers in selecting fishing tackle, rods, reels, bait, apparel, and accessories based on their needs and skill levels. Share product knowledge, local fishing information, and techniques when appropriate. Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process transactions, and handle cash accurately. Stock shelves, organize merchandise displays, and ensure products are properly labeled. Receive, unpack, and inventory incoming shipments. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store environment. Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to management. Assist with seasonal promotions, special events, and in-store demonstrations. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Preferred Knowledge of freshwater and/or saltwater fishing techniques and equipment. Previous retail, sporting goods, or outdoor recreation experience. Experience operating POS systems and inventory management software. Familiarity with local fishing regulations and popular fishing destinations.
