In this role, you'll represent the Old 44 brand by welcoming customers, helping them discover unique vintage pieces, offering styling recommendations, and creating an inviting shopping environment. We're looking for someone who is personable, energetic, dependable, and genuinely interested in vintage clothing, fashion, and Americana. You'll work closely with our team to maintain the store's curated presentation, support daily operations, and help create the kind of experience that keeps customers coming back. Whether you're helping someone find the perfect vintage jacket, organizing new arrivals, or assisting at the register, your attitude and attention to detail will play an important role in the success of the store. Duties Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive service throughout their shopping experience Engage with customers, learn what they are looking for, and make thoughtful recommendations based on their style and needs Assist customers with selecting vintage clothing, accessories, and other merchandise Provide styling suggestions and help customers put together outfits when appropriate Develop a strong understanding of vintage clothing, brands, eras, fabrics, sizing, and general garment condition Operate POS systems accurately and efficiently, including cash and credit card transactions Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and fitting room area Assist with merchandising, including arranging racks, displays, mannequins, and new arrivals according to Old 44's aesthetic Receive, tag, price, organize, and restock merchandise Assist with inventory organization and maintaining accurate product information Process online orders and assist with pickups, shipping, and other e-commerce needs when necessary Answer customer questions in person, over the phone, and through other communication channels in a professional and friendly manner Assist with store events, promotions, product launches, and other Old 44 activities Help maintain the overall appearance and atmosphere of the store throughout each shift Take initiative during slower periods by completing cleaning, organization, merchandising, inventory, and other assigned tasks Work collaboratively with the team while also being comfortable working independently Represent Old 44 Vintage professionally and contribute to a positive, welcoming team environment Experience Previous retail, sales, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred Genuine interest in vintage clothing, fashion, Americana, western wear, or related styles is highly desirable Knowledge of vintage clothing, brands, eras, garment construction, or vintage sizing is a plus, but not required Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to make customers feel comfortable and welcome Comfortable approaching customers and starting genuine conversations without being overly pushy Ability to provide thoughtful product recommendations and contribute to a positive sales experience Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail operations preferred Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy retail environment Strong attention to detail when organizing, merchandising, tagging, and handling merchandise Dependable, punctual, and willing to take initiative without needing constant direction Ability to receive feedback, learn quickly, and work effectively as part of a team Flexible availability, including weekends, is preferred Join us at Old 44 Vintage and become part of a growing vintage retail brand built around community, great clothing, and a genuine love for Americana.
