ASSISTANT STORE DIRECTOR - TWAIN HARTE MARKET
Twain Harte Market (subsidiary of NW Supermarkets, Inc.)
Twain Harte, CA Compensation:
$27 - $30/hour SUMMARY We are seeking an energetic, hands-on Assistant Store Director to help lead our store team and support daily operations. Located in the beautiful Twain Harte, CA, Twain Harte Market is an important part of the local community. In this role, you'll work closely with the Store Director to ensure operational excellence, exceptional customer service, and a positive workplace culture. This position is ideal for an experienced grocery leader ready to take the next step in their career while gaining valuable store leadership experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Store Director in overseeing daily store operations and team performance. Lead by example by maintaining a visible presence on the sales floor and actively engaging with customers and team members. Help create and maintain a positive, customer-focused store culture. Assist with labor management, and workforce planning. Ensure product quality, freshness, merchandising, pricing accuracy, and overall store presentation. Support inventory management, ordering, and shrink-control initiatives. Train, coach, and develop store associates. Help drive sales, profitability, and operational efficiency goals. Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner. Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety regulations, and workplace safety standards. Assume leadership responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior leadership experience in a retail grocery environment required (department manager, assistant manager, or equivalent). Strong customer service skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Ability to lead, motivate, and develop employees. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Desire to grow into higher levels of grocery store leadership.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand for long periods of time. Bend, lift, push and pull carts with heavy loads. Proper use of a box cutter, knives, and other department devices. Frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Frequent bending, stooping, and climbing. Frequent use of stairs. Repetitive stretching and lifting required.
