This is a run specialty shop — the person who does this job well is the reason a customer finds the right shoe, stops getting injured, and comes back for the next pair. You'll spend your day talking to runners and cyclists: beginners training for a first 5K, people rebuilding after an injury, and Boulder athletes who know more about midsole foam than you do. The job is to listen, watch how someone moves, and put them in the right thing. What you'll do Fit runners for footwear — assess gait, ask the right questions, and recommend honestly, including when the honest answer is the cheaper shoe Run the floor: greet, restock, merchandise, keep the store somewhere people want to spend time Handle transactions, returns, and special orders accurately Learn the product deeply — new models land constantly and you'll be expected to know them Help host shop group runs and in-store events Open and close the store on your own shifts What we're looking for You run, or you're genuinely curious about running. You do not need to be fast. Comfortable starting conversations with strangers Reliable, with weekend and evening availability — that's when runners shop Able to be on your feet through a full shift and lift boxes up to 40 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation Careful with details: sizes, orders, counts Nice to have Previous retail, run specialty, or bike shop experience Familiarity with gait analysis or footwear fitting Coaching, physical therapy, or athletic training background Roots in the Boulder running community Schedule Full-time, 32-40 hours per week. Store hours are Monday-Saturday 10:00 AM-6:00 PM and Sunday 11:00 AM-5:00 PM. Weekend availability is required.
