Job Description:
A well-established aerospace and precision manufacturing company in the Longmont area is seeking experienced CNC Mill Leads/Shift Supervisors for both 2nd Shift and Weekend Shift operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled CNC machinist/programmer ready to take the next step into a hands-on leadership role while continuing to work with advanced multi-axis machining technology. The ideal candidate is capable of independently programming complex parts in Mastercam, performing complete machine setups, operating CNC mills, troubleshooting production issues, and leading a team to meet quality and production goals. Responsibilities Lead and support production activities during your assigned shift Independently program complex components using Mastercam Set up and operate CNC milling machines with minimal supervision Optimize programs, tooling, and machining processes to improve efficiency Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to machinists Verify part quality through precision measuring equipment and inspection procedures Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met Collaborate with engineering and management to improve manufacturing processes Qualifications 5+ years of CNC milling experience in a precision manufacturing environment Proven ability to independently program in Mastercam Strong setup and operation experience on CNC mills Experience machining tight-tolerance aerospace or high-precision components preferred Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, feeds and speeds, and machining strategies Preferred Experience 5-axis machining experience strongly preferred Previous lead or supervisory experience is preferred, but strong technical leaders ready to step into a leadership role are encouraged to apply Aerospace manufacturing High-mix, low-volume production Continuous improvement/process optimization Training and mentoring machinists
