We are seeking a Seasonal Worker to join the team at My Sister's Place Thrift Store & Donation Center , supporting store operations during the busy holiday season. This position plays an important role in creating a positive shopping and donation experience at My Sister's Place, where proceeds from store sales benefit The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services, a program of BH care . This position is part-time, 25 hours per week. The schedule is Tuesday-Saturday from 11am-4pm. It starts on or around November 2 nd through January 9 th , 2027. Candidates must reside in Connecticut to be eligible for this position. What You Will Do As a Seasonal Worker, you will help maintain a welcoming, organized, and efficient retail environment while supporting customers, donors, staff, and volunteers throughout the holiday season.
Responsibilities include:
Greet donors and customers and provide outstanding customer service. Receive, sort, and organize incoming donations. Process donated items and ensure they are routed appropriately to sales, storage, or recycling areas. Restock merchandise and assist with inventory replenishment. Create attractive merchandise displays and maintain a clean, organized sales floor. Help keep fitting rooms, donation areas, shelves, and storage spaces neat and presentable. Support day-to-day store operations to ensure a safe and positive experience for shoppers and donors.
What You Will Bring:
Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills, including the ability to use an iPad or similar technology. Ability to assist with point-of-sale transactions. Strong customer service skills and a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Previous retail, customer service, thrift store, or inventory experience. Experience working with volunteers or community-based organizations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment during peak business periods. What We Offer The anticipated salary range for this position is $17-$18. Actual compensation offered will be determined based on a variety of factors including relevant skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, and internal equity considerations.
