Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions efficiently, and assist with sales and merchandising efforts. This role is vital in creating a welcoming shopping environment and ensuring smooth store operations. Experience with POS systems, retail sales, and cashiering is preferred, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail store setting. Responsibilities Operate POS systems accurately to process customer transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling items when appropriate Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring efficient flow during busy periods Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising displays to enhance store appearance Conduct product demos to promote new or featured items and encourage sales Manage inventory levels by stocking shelves and assisting with inventory counts Uphold phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries or providing assistance over the phone Supervise or assist other team members as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment Ensure compliance with store policies and safety procedures at all times Skills Proficiency with POS systems and basic cashiering functions Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and stock management Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively Experience in supervising or leading team members is desirable Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations Good phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally Upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities in a retail environment Familiarity with retail store operations and retail sales processes Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
