Responsibilities Provide a welcoming atmosphere by greeting customers upon entry Efficiently process customer transactions, including cash, checks, and credit/debit cards Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide product information Maintain accurate cash register balances and process returns/exchanges in accordance with company policy Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail environment Collaborate with fellow retail associates to ensure proper coverage during breaks and lunches Support all Garden Center departments with daily tasks and projects during slow periods or winter season Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent preferred Successful completion of on-the-job training Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service skills and ability to operate cash registers, calculators, and scanners Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and providing refunds Familiarity with company products, services, and customer-related policies Additional Requirements Ability to stand for prolonged periods and work on cash register or related equipment Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and perform repetitive movements over extended periods Team player with strong multitasking and detail-oriented abilities Must be at least 18 years old and maintain a dependable attendance record Why work with East Coast Garden Center?
