Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greets and interacts with customers
• Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise
• Fills customer's bait order
• Maintaining and cleaning of bait tanks
• Sorting live and dead baits
• Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer's needs
• Assist customers with local area and industry questions both in the store and by phone
• Collects payment using the store point of sale system
• Ensure the store is neat, clean, and organized & merchandise is stocked and properly displayed
• Stay up to date with services and products offered here at the shop, as well as become versed in fishing knowledge and techniques to help customers
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Reliable and professional with an excellent work ethic
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent sales and customer service skills
• Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store's point-of-sale system
• Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds
• Basic computer skills required

Education and Experience:

• 18 years and older
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous retail, sales, cashier, or customer service skill preferred
• Saltwater fishing and outdoor recreational experience is a must have

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
