Surf Shop Customer Service Associate / Cashier Nā Papa Surf Waikīkī, HI Job Details Part-time From $16 an hour 8 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Customer communication Full Job Description Overview Surf shop and clothing company in Waikīkī looking for motivated individuals to join our team. Our shop offers a variety of beach/water rentals as well as other activities and retail items. We are looking for part time workers on the weekends to run the shop and assist customers in booking their Waikīkī activities. We are a small family business with over 25 years working in the Waikīkī tourism industry. Ideal candidates are responsible, energetic, eager to create a great work environment and spread the aloha spirit to our customers. Must be available Saturday and Sundays. Availability during the week is a plus. Great opportunity for students. Responsibilities Greet customers and assist them with activities, rental items and upselling our retail items. Process transactions using cash registers and point-of-sale system. Recording rental items and insure the check out and check in times are accurate and all equipment is accounted for. Maintain knowledge of the activities we offer to assist customers with any questions. Restock inventory Opening and closing duties. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support store operations. Skills Experience in retail sales or activity/tour sales is helpful. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers. Japanese speaking is a plus but not required. Proficient in cash handling and basic retail math skills for accurate transaction processing. Knowledge of Waikīkī and the surf breaks in the area. Ability to handle multiple duties at once. Strong communication skills. Social Media and photo/video editing knowledge a plus. Surfing experience is desired to assist our customers with the correct size board based on conditions.
