Position Summary:

Western Hybrids is looking for a hardworking and reliable Research Crew Member to help with our corn hybrid research plots across Washington, Idaho, and Utah . This is a hands-on, salaried position based in Parma, Idaho , with regular travel to research sites during the growing season. The job includes helping with planting, maintaining, and harvesting test plots, collecting field data, and assisting with equipment and seed handling. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning about agriculture, and being part of a close-knit research team. No degree or prior research experience required — we will train the right person. •

Starting Salary:

$42,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

Help with planting, irrigating, maintaining, and harvesting corn research plots. Travel with the team to field sites (lodging and vehicle provided). Assist with setting up signs, labels, and plot maps. Collect simple field data (e.g., plant height, counts, notes). Assist with basic equipment operation (tractors, harvesters, trucks, etc.). Package and prepare seed for planting. Help keep the shop and tools clean and organized. Follow safety guidelines and work respectfully with other team members. Preferred Qualifications (but not required): Interest in agriculture, farming, or outdoor work. Comfortable working long days outside in various weather. Willing to learn how to safely operate tractors and harvesters. Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet. Valid driver's license (CDL is a bonus, not required). Willing to travel and stay overnight during busy times. Willing to work toward getting an Idaho Pesticide Applicator License in the future. Why Work at Western Hybrids?
