Overview Habitat for Humanity of McLean County has an immediate opening for a ReStore Associate at the Bloomington ReStore. The ReStore sells donated building materials and household items to provide funds for Habitat's mission to build homes, communities, and hope. We are seeking an energetic and reliable ReStore Associate / Truck Driver to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to our mission. The ideal candidate will be passionate about community service, possess strong driving skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities ReStore Associates work all areas of the store, including driving the box truck, receiving incoming donations, processing donations, providing customer service in store and over the phone, running the cash register, and more. This position can be challenging, so we are looking for candidates who do not shy away from hard work.
Duties include:
Safely load, unload, and organize donated items and merchandise within the warehouse using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Operate a box truck to pick up furniture, appliances, and building materials from various locations while adhering to traffic regulations. Assist with warehouse operations including inventory management, sorting donations, and maintaining a clean work environment. Load and secure items onto trucks for delivery or pickup, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices. Manually handle heavy lifting tasks during loading/unloading processes with proper safety protocols in place. Communicate effectively with team members and customers throughout the delivery process to ensure satisfaction and safety. Qualifications An ideal candidate has exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills; is self-motivated, organized, and hardworking; and has experience with volunteers/volunteering. Candidates should have effective written and oral communication skills as well as the ability to lift up to 75 pounds on a regular basis. The job involves frequent bending, lifting, and ample time on your feet. Candidates must be 21 years of age or older, should have a valid driver's license and be available to work on Saturdays. Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
