For 40 years, Prairieland Feeds has been a family-owned business that specializes in helping animal lovers with their pet, horse, and livestock questions. We are looking for a part-time sales associate who might be working on a degree in Animal Science (or related field) or who has pet, horse or livestock experience and the knowledge, customer service skills, and managerial aptitude for a part-time sales associate position. The ideal candidate would have a passion for this industry, want to further their experience in the field, and have the potential to be promoted into part-time managerial positions. We pride ourselves on going far beyond the expectations our customers have to help them problem-solve and keep their animals healthy for years to come. Sales Associates answer customer questions on animal health and nutrition, operate registers accurately, put together feed orders, carry products into customer vehicles, stock assigned sections, and work together with peers to provide an outstanding, personalized experience that keeps customers coming back. The idea candidate must have an outgoing personality, have demonstrable communication and leadership skills, be comfortable engaging with livestock producers and pet owners alike, and be physically able to lift and stack 50-lb bags. JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Sales Associates must provide outstanding exceptional customer service, assist customers in the aisles, and answer questions on pet, horse, and livestock nutrition and care. In addition to customer service, sales associates stock, price, clean, and carry product out for customers with a smile (must be able to lift a 50 lb bag).

CREDENTIALS

We are looking for part-time, highly enthusiastic, energetic, positive, hard-working, and self-motivated individuals with excellent people skills and an eagerness to learn more about this industry. A degree in (or working toward a degree in) vet tech, animal science, veterinary medicine, agri-business, or related field is a distinct advantage, as is farm experience or hands-on experience working with pets, nutrition, livestock, and/or horses. This job has flexible weekday and weekend schedules.
