Join our vibrant Gourmet Market team as a Retail Associate and become a friendly face that delights customers with exceptional service and expert product knowledge. In this dynamic role, you'll engage with shoppers, assist them in discovering premium food items, and create a welcoming environment when they enter our cafe and market. Your enthusiasm for gourmet products and dedication to customer satisfaction will drive sales and elevate the shopping experience. Duties Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance to enhance their shopping experience Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for checkout transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing Conduct product demonstrations and tastings to educate customers about specialty items and encourage sales Maintain attractive merchandising displays by stocking shelves, organizing products, and ensuring proper signage Promote upselling opportunities by suggesting complementary products and current promotions Experience Prior retail sales experience, preferably in a grocery store or specialty food environment Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic retail math for accurate transactions Strong communication skills to engage confidently with customers and team members Perfect for someone with a passion for gourmet food and wines, interested in part time, whether to supplement another position, or for someone interested in growing their career in the food industry or for retirees looking for a few hours per week here and there.
