Job Description
Crop Team Member 4-Way Production, Inc. About Us 4-Way Production, Inc. is a family-owned and operated farm established in 1942. We are committed to producing high-quality corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay while maintaining the highest standards of stewardship, safety, and teamwork. Position Overview The Crop Team Member plays an essential role in the daily operation of our farming business. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining farm equipment, assisting with planting and harvest operations, completing general farm maintenance, and supporting all areas of the operation as needed. Successful candidates are hardworking, dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to perform a variety of tasks throughout the year. Primary Responsibilities Equipment Operation Operate grain carts during harvest. Operate planters during planting season. Operate tillage equipment. Operate sprayer in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations. Drive farm trucks to transport grain. Tender planters and sprayers with seed, fertilizer, chemicals, and fuel. Safely operate tractors and other farm equipment. Equipment Maintenance Perform routine inspections of equipment before and after use. Complete minor mechanical repairs. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, and seasonal inspections. Report equipment issues promptly. Maintain accurate maintenance records when requested. Farm Maintenance Assist with minor drainage tile repairs. Clear fence rows and remove brush. Mow and maintain roadsides, field entrances, and farm facilities. Maintain farm buildings, grain facilities, and equipment storage areas. Perform general labor and miscellaneous farm projects as assigned. Housekeeping Keep equipment clean inside and out. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop. Assist in keeping barns, storage buildings, and farm facilities neat and presentable. Practice good housekeeping to protect equipment and promote workplace safety. Team Support Fill in wherever needed throughout the operation. Assist with planting, spraying, harvest, grain handling, and other seasonal activities. Work cooperatively with other employees and family members. Follow established operating procedures and safety practices. Represent 4-Way Production, Inc. professionally when interacting with customers, suppliers, and neighboring farms. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous agricultural experience is preferred. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate agricultural equipment. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor equipment repairs. Strong work ethic and positive attitude. Dependable with excellent attendance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to work extended hours during planting, spraying, and harvest seasons. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Valid driver's license required. CDL Class A is a plus but not required. Preferred Skills Experience operating modern farm equipment with GPS guidance systems. Experience hauling grain or agricultural products. Knowledge of crop production practices. Welding or fabrication experience is beneficial. Basic knowledge of equipment diagnostics and maintenance. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, climb, bend, lift, and kneel. Work outdoors in heat, cold, dust, wind, and varying weather conditions.
