Position Summary The Retail Store Associate is responsible for staffing Sentry Safety Services' Sullivan, IN retail location, assisting customers with safety and contractor supply needs, processing sales, and maintaining accurate store inventory. This role is often the first point of contact for walk-in customers and plays a key part in representing Sentry's reputation for quality and service. Core Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Greet and assist walk-in customers with product selection and questions Process sales transactions, including payment handling and receipts Answer phone and email inquiries regarding pricing, availability, and orders Build rapport with regular contractor and industrial customers Recommend related products and communicate promotions or new items Store & Inventory Management Open and close the store, including daily cash drawer procedures Receive, inspect, and maintain accurate store inventory Maintain accurate inventory counts and update records in ERP/CRM software Keep the sales floor, shelves, and displays clean, organized, and well-stocked Flag low-stock and reorder needs to management Operate forklift to receive and move incoming stock as needed Order Fulfillment & Deliveries Pull and fill in-store, phone, and internet/e-commerce orders Process customer returns and exchanges Accept and process credit card and other customer payments Coordinate with the warehouse and inside sales team on stock availability Make local deliveries to customers as needed Perform basic vehicle pre-trip checks for delivery runs General Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment Operate basic store equipment (POS system, hand truck, etc.) Support other Sentry locations or events as needed Qualifications Entry-level; no prior job experience required Must be at least 21 years of age Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly Powered industrial truck (forklift) certification required, or willingness to be trained and certified Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required for local deliveries Comfortable accepting credit card and other customer payments Basic computer skills; ERP/CRM software and POS training provided Strong attention to detail — accuracy in inventory and transactions directly affects store performance Team player with a positive demeanor and a strong drive toward customer satisfaction Willing to adapt to ever-changing needs and work independently while staffing the store Must pass pre-employment substance abuse test and background check Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay, commensurate with experience Paid vacation time Simple IRA retirement plan To Apply Please submit your resume to jobs@sentrysafetyservices.com
