Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Shop Technician/Diesel Mechanic specializing in heavy trucks to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the maintenance, repair, and diagnostics of a diverse fleet of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability across our operations. As a leader in the shop, you will mentor junior technicians, oversee complex repairs, and uphold high standards of quality and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your mechanical skills in a fast-paced environment dedicated to excellence in heavy truck maintenance and repair. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the shop team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy trucks, including tractor-trailers and industrial equipment Perform advanced repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex vehicle systems accurately Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding and assembly to support custom repairs or modifications Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other machinery safely and efficiently during repair or maintenance procedures Ensure all vehicle maintenance aligns with manufacturer specifications and safety standards Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports for all repairs performed Experience Proven dealership experience or extensive background working on heavy trucks and diesel engines Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems repair, and electrical troubleshooting Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and metal assembly Familiarity with schematics for vehicle electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technicians while maintaining high-quality workmanship Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members Join us if you're passionate about heavy truck mechanics and eager to lead a skilled team dedicated to excellence!
