is an independent handmade gift shop located on Newbury Street in Boston. We bring together thoughtful products from a growing community of independent makers, including jewelry, accessories, greeting cards, home goods, pet products, and distinctive gifts. Our goal is to create a warm and welcoming retail experience where customers can discover meaningful pieces and learn the stories behind them. About the Role We are looking for a warm, reliable, detail-oriented, and creative full-time team member to become a long-term part of HEYLII's daily operations and continued growth. This role goes beyond basic cashiering. You will welcome customers, introduce products, maintain displays, manage inventory, and assist with simple product and store content. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys handmade goods and design and who feels comfortable connecting with customers and helping them find meaningful gifts. Key Responsibilities Welcome customers and provide friendly, thoughtful assistance Understand customers' needs and offer natural, personalized product recommendations Share product details, craftsmanship, and the stories behind our independent makers Operate the POS system and accurately process purchases, returns, and exchanges Provide gift wrapping and keep the wrapping area organized Receive and check incoming shipments Price, label, organize, display, and restock merchandise Help maintain accurate inventory records and report damaged, missing, or low-stock items Arrange and refresh product displays to keep the store attractive, organized, and easy to shop Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, checkout area, storage space, and other store areas Assist with simple product photography, store content, and short-form videos for Instagram, Reels, or TikTok Complete opening, closing, and daily store checklists Handle routine store operations independently when the owner or manager is not on-site Assist with store events, creative workshops, and seasonal operations as needed Who We're Looking For Interested in a stable, long-term, full-time position Reliable, punctual, responsible, and able to work independently Warm, friendly, and comfortable communicating with customers Genuinely interested in handmade goods, design, gifts, and independent brands Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Able to identify what needs to be done without always waiting for instructions Comfortable working in a retail environment and managing multiple tasks Willing to learn POS, inventory, and other store systems Previous experience in retail, customer service, visual merchandising, inventory, or social media content is preferred Able to stand and move throughout a full shift and lift routine merchandise and delivery boxes Available to work at least one weekend day each week and during busy holiday periods Position Details Job type: Full-time, permanent
