Job Description
Job Overview Join our vibrant music retail team at Music of the Bay, where your passion for music and exceptional customer service will create an inspiring shopping experience. In this energetic role, you'll assist customers in scheduling lessons, renting instruments, purchasing instruments and accessories while managing daily store operations. Your enthusiasm and product knowledge will help foster a welcoming environment that encourages music exploration and sales growth. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to sharing the joy of music with our community. Duties Greet customers warmly and provide expert guidance on musical instruments, accessories, and audio equipment Scheduling lessons for our 8 teachers and maintaining records Operate the cash register (POS system), handle retail sales transactions accurately, and manage cash drawer operations with integrity Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the store is visually appealing through effective merchandising Assist with inventory management, including stocking new products and conducting stock counts Maintain excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or scheduling appointments Qualifications Previous retail sales experience, preferably in a music store or related environment, is highly desirable Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership and team coordination skills Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are an advantage to serve diverse customers Knowledge of retail store product categories such as musical instruments, audio gear, and accessories Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic math for transactions and register balancing Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting while maintaining excellent customer service standards Previous grocery or retail store experience can be beneficial for understanding merchandising and stock management Join us to share your love of music while developing your skills in a lively retail environment!
