We're seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Lead Utility Agent with inventory experience and strong customer service skills. This hybrid role supports both inventory operations and the sales team, ensuring efficient product handling, accurate order fulfillment, and full compliance with cannabis regulations. You'll assist with inventory audits, organize and fulfill orders, and guide customers in selecting products that meet their needs—all while maintaining a clean, compliant, and professional workspace. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with the Inventory Supervisor and General Manager to ensure adequate product stocking throughout the day. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory audits as instructed by the Inventory Supervisor. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and compliance of product storage areas, including the vault and sales floor. Organize products by SKU, commodity group, and METRC tags, ensuring clear separation between items. Ensure proper handling, packaging, and labeling of all products in accordance with SOPs and state/local regulations. Fulfill POS and online orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all required components are included and properly labeled. Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock or overstock issues to the Inventory Manager. Identify and report any concerns regarding product quality, packaging, or labeling management. Ensure that saleable and unsaleable products are properly designated within the POS system. Provide feedback on slow-moving or overstocked products. Consistently follow all inventory control procedures to ensure 100% compliance. Complete clerical tasks including accurate record keeping and filing of inventory documentation. Perform other duties assigned by upper management. Greet and establish rapport with customers, delivering exceptional service while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. Assist customers in identifying products and consumption methods that best meet their individual needs. Operate registers, tablets, or computers to complete sales transactions accurately. Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and organization of the retail area and register space. Ensure strict adherence to all CCC regulations and internal distribution processes. Gather, verify, and securely process customer information while maintaining confidentiality. Support opening and closing procedures, including stocking, cash drawer management, and floor organization. Contribute positively to team culture and uphold the ideals and values of the company. Stay up-to-date with ongoing cannabis education and required training, including RVT and state-mandated courses. Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Perform other duties as needed to meet operational goals. Assist with inventory as needed Operate the register and assist the sales team as needed
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with MA Cannabis Program rules, METRC, and regulations is preferred Must be at least 21 years of age Highschool diploma or GED Proven organizational skills Basic knowledge of cannabis strains Basic computer operating skills including intermediate MS Excel knowledge Intermediate math skills Knowledge of retail point of sales (POS) system Two years of experience in retail sales or inventory Ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs., reach arms above head, and stand for up to 8 hours a day Must be able to pass any required CCC background checks Ability to effectively communicate with staff members and managers. A passion for cannabis that is translatable to a diverse group of ages, ethnicities, and professionals Must be able to provide exemplary customer service and represent the business with pride Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
